Austin group to meet McClure in Clovis

Austin Community College officials did not select a new school president at Tuesday evening’s board meeting in Austin, Texas.

Clovis Community College President Dr. Beverly McClure is one of two finalists vying for the open position.

Robert Aguero, vice chancellor of educational affairs at Dallas Community College, is the other candidate.

According to Cile Spelce, director of public information at ACC, the board divided faculty and board members into two groups to will travel to Clovis and Dallas in upcoming weeks to meet with the candidates in their own environment.

The traveling groups will also speak with community members and officials about the candidates.

No date has been set for the final decision, Spelce said.
