City commissioner gets heart surgery

City Commissioner Robert Sandoval was admitted to the Heart Hospital in Lubbock Monday for an operation on his heart, but is expected to be released today.

According to a city of Clovis press release, Sandoval had a 99 percent blockage in his left main heart artery and a stint was inserted to correct the blockage. A full recovery is expected, the release said.
