Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Two vehicles sustained moderate damage and one driver was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center with injuries following a Nov. 26 crash about 5:30 p.m. near the corner of Thornton and 21st Street.
The driver of a 1988 Chevy Suburban said she was eastbound on 21st Street looking for a store entrance, began to turn left into the parking lot, and did not see a 1997 Chevy two-door car coming toward her in the oncoming lane. The 64-year-old driver of the Chevy said she was unable to stop and her vehicle was then hit in the rear by another two-door car, which police said sustained moderate to slight damage.
The Suburban owner was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.

Shortly after midnight Nov. 27, police arrived at the scene of a crash with injuries at Thornton and Mañana streets. One driver suffered facial injuries and was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment. The other driver said he had been northbound on Thornton when the injured driver ran a stop sign in a pickup without headlights on and hit his Chevy Suburban.
Police later administered sobriety tests to the pickup driver at the hospital, which he failed. Police arranged a blood alcohol test and cited him for driving while intoxicated, no seatbelt, stop sign violation, and no headlights after dark.

Police received a call about 2 a.m. Saturday regarding a fight in progress at the 700 block of North Prince, and upon arrival saw a man standing next to a door of a business, shouting obscenities.
Other people tried to restrain the man who was trying to walk away. When an officer attempted to speak with him, the man swore at the officer, refused orders not to enter the business, and shook off the officer’s attempt to hold him. A group of police then took the man to the ground and sprayed him in the face with an incapacitation spray, at which time officers were able to restrain him. The man was later cited for disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer.
