Offices close for Independence Day holiday

All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed Friday and Saturday for the Independence Day holiday.

Specifically, the following city offices will be closed Friday and Saturday:

Clovis City Hall, Public Works, the Clovis Area Transit System, the Friendship Center, Baxter-Curren Senior Center and Clovis-Carver Public Library.

The Friday night dance at Baxter-Curren Senior Center will be held.

City sanitation trucks will run commercial and polycart routes.

The city landfill also will be open.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department offices will be closed Friday and Saturday, but Hillcrest Park Zoo will be open for the weekend, then closed on Monday.

All Curry County offices will be closed with the exception of the adult and the juvenile detention centers and the sheriff’s deputies on patrol.

Ninth Judicial District Court and Magistrate Court will be closed Friday for the weekend. Municipal Court will be closed Friday for the weekend as well.

The U.S. Postal Service will be closed only on Friday.

Cannon Air Force Base offices will be closed Friday, except for essential personnel and services.

All area banks will be closed Friday and Saturday.

Many area department stores and restaurants will be open through the holiday.

The Clovis News Journal offices will be closed Friday and Saturday, but customer service phone lines will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday.
