  • Power back on in Muleshoe

    Power was out for about 30 minutes in Muleshoe this afternoon but has been restored, Xcel Energy spokesman Wes Reeves said. "We experienced a disruption on a transmission line feeding eastern Muleshoe at 3:53 p.m. (CDT)," Reeves wrote in an email. "We did not locate the fault but were able to re-route the power flow at 4:24 p.m." Reeves said both Xcel Energy and Lamb County REC are looking into the cause.   • Airman injured in accidental shooting off base

    Staff report An airman stationed at Cannon Air Force Base was reported in stable condition late Wednesday at a Lubbock hospital after being accidentally shot on private property in Curry County earlier in the day, according to Undersheriff Wesley Waller. Confusion over the location of the shooting prompted about a 30-minute lockdown at the base, according to a press release from Cannon’s public affairs office.
