Scott Christensen of Portales has been reappointed to the Manufactured Housing Committee by Gov. Susana Martinez, according to a press release issued Friday by the governor. • Even dumbest creatures can be useful

The pastor was making a point Sunday morning. He said, “Even God’s dumbest creatures can be useful.” I tried not to take it personally. However, if he’d seen my grade transcript from vet school, I would certainly qualify for half of it!link But, he was talking about sheep. Most people would agree that sheep are useful. This is such a boring New Mexico summer we’ll stoop to just about anything to get our juices stirring. Levi Chavez notwithstanding. What happened is Guv Hubby went on a Louisiana hunting trip with two state police officers and Susana Martinez stalkers have been sniffing around to find out who paid for what. You’d have to grasp Political Science Stuff to understand why the gov...

  • Three-Buck Chuck wine still bites

Before Christmas, I attended a cult meeting in Portales. For the safety of the 20 attendees, I’ve kept it under wraps until now to give everyone time to cover their tracks. Only waterboarding, dark chocolate or a 19-year-old could get their identities or the address out of me. In the hosts’ driveway, we circled our modest, eco-friendly cars like a wagon train. Rather than protecting ourselves from horse-riding warriors reclaiming their native soil, we were on the lookout for high horsepowered cats in SUVs. To gain entry into...
