Once when I asked a coworker about texting and how to do it faster, he replied that he thought it helped a lot if you had really long fingernails.     Compared to the rest of the doubleheader, in the top of the second inning of the second game, things were going pretty well for the Clovis High Lady Wildcats. No runs had scored, although two Hobbs Eagles had reached base with two outs in the frame.     HOBBS — Sophomore Emily Walker bounced back from a first-round loss to claim the girls singles consolation championship on Friday in a six-school tennis tournament hosted by Hobbs High. Walker's effort accounted for Portales' only points in the tournament, which combined boys and girls singles and doubles brackets to determine a champion. That is fortunate in that much of Clovis is blown into Texas. Large parts of Farmington are deposited in Espanola, which has enough dirt of its own, thank you.
