Almost every year on March 22, Clovis resident Chief Joseph Weldon Crim, 80, observes the weather at sunrise on his ranch in Lazbuddie, Texas. Leslie received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern New Mexico University.   • Weather spotting class returning

    Staff report The National Weather Service will hold a weather spotting training class from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7 in the Ingram Room of the Clovis-Carver Public Library. The training will cover NWS operations, flash floods, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and lightning. The NWS is also looking for volunteers to become official SKYWARN weather spotters.   • Produce giveaway moving to fairgrounds

    Staff report The Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico is moving its March Produce to People event to the Curry County Fairgrounds. The first giveaway of produce at the new location is set for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Citizens are asked to bring their own bags, with a suggested amount of two to five bags, to the arena grandstand at 1900 E. Brady.     Staff report The Business Enterprise Center, housed at the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce, will host an hour-long seminar today to help small business owners expand worldwide.
