    Lottery sales in the four-county area of Curry, De Baca, Quay, and Roosevelt have dropped 11 percent from six years ago. The lottery was established to create revenues for education, so lottery sales are vital to college students who depend on the Legislative Lottery Scholarship program for tuition assistance.     Amanda Thornton realized she needed to quit once and for all when her 5-year-old daughter, Sophia began making remarks about how disgusting smoking is. Thornton, 26, of Clovis, always put her daughter's health first and made sure to never smoke around her, so she didn't know her mom was a smoker.     There's been a family reunion at the Hillcrest Zoo. Jerrica, Hillcrest Park Zoo's 10-month-old giraffe, was moved into the same pen Tuesday as her mother.     After 10 days of 'Nancy's Truck' driving through Clovis and Portales collecting nonperishable goods, the campaign was declared a success by the organization. On Tuesday, the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico held a celebration to announce its amount of donations received: More than 8,000 pounds of non-perishable items $557 in cash donations..
