Obituary: Larry Dane Beevers

December 17, 1949 - May 19, 2024

Larry Beevers passed away May 19th in the presence of family and friends at his home in Clovis, NM. He was 74 years old.

Larry was born in Clovis, NM to Jake W. and Beatrice N. Beevers on December 17, 1949. He lived in several towns in and around New Mexico while growing up. Larry graduated from Window Rock High School in Ft Defiance, AZ in 1968. While in high school, Larry met his first wife, Susan Garrison. Their union produced two sons, Tony Beevers, and Larry Beevers. Larry served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1968 to 1972. After discharge from the US Navy, Larry attended Auto Mechanics school in Roswell, NM. While in Roswell, Larry met and married his second wife, Wilma Jean Beevers (nee Coleman). Larry and Jean were married for 45 years until her passing in 2019. Their marriage produced two children, Rebecca Jean Beevers, and Gordon Jake Beevers. Larry enjoyed being with family and friends. He never turned someone away who needed his help. He did all he could to help, whether that was someone he loved needing assistance in the middle of the night to needing a place to stay for a night or for a while. He was a strong man with an infinitely gentle and compassionate heart. Larry also enjoyed building and repairing things and always had a new idea for another project. For over 26 years, Larry was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator with callsign KCSZTN. He enjoyed participating in this hobby with his son, Gordon, and was a member of the Eastern New Mexico Amateur Radio Club. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Jake W Beevers, and Beatrice Naomi Beevers (nee White). He is survived by his brother Gary Beevers of Clovis, son Tony (Judea) Beevers, son Larry (Maia) Beevers, daughter Rebecca (Jimmy) Regenhardt, son Gordon (Danielle) Beevers. Larry is further survived by his grandchildren Montana Locke, Shiann Locke, Kyleigh Beevers, Makayla Beevers, Cassandra Beevers, and many of their friends that called him "Grampy''.

Larry was loved by many and will be missed by everyone his life touched.
