Obituary: Deborah "Gwen" Bain

November 18, 1953 - May 3, 2024

Deborah "Gwen" Bain, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3rd, 2024. Her love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Her loved ones will honor her courageous, determined, and kind heart by living their lives to the fullest. A Memorial Service to be held on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Angels, 1430 Thornton Street.

Gwen was born on November 18, 1953, to J.W. Minton and Anne Belle (Mageehee) in Lubbock, TX. She grew up in Rancho Cucamonga California and graduated from Alta Loma High School in 1971. She resided in Clovis NM from 1983 until her passing. In 1999 she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Soon after, she was employed by the Curry County judiciary system, as a court clerk. She most enjoyed her final position with the courts, as the Honorable Robert S. Orlik's Administrative Secretary. Gwen loved caring for her grandkids, watching current events, discussing politics and pop culture, and listening to her era's music.

Survivors include her son; Joe Abelar; daughter, Amanda Lanero; and son, Anthony Lanero all of Clovis New Mexico; stepson, Roy Bain of Klamath Falls, Oregon; stepdaughter, Neeley Bounds of Longview Texas, and her grandchildren: Josiah, Marcus, Zephaniah, Lennox, Lexi, Victoria, Ashley, Sara, Kaden, Cheyanne, Brianna, Gracie and their loving grandfather, Ricky Bain.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. W. and Anna Belle Minton, sister Lanita Callahan, and stepson Dickie Bain.
