Clovis police investigate pedestrian death in hit-and-run

Clovis police are investigating the death of a Clovis man struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Monday night.

According to a news release from CPD Capt. Roman Romero, Vincent Galvan, 73, was found severely injured in the eastbound lane of West Seventh Street near West Street Monday around 11:15 p.m.

Police and EMS personnel arrived on the scene, responding to a call to dispatch.

Information relayed to dispatch showed the vehicle involved in the crash had fled the scene.

Galvan was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center, but he did not survive his injuries.

Romero wrote the CPD Major Crash Team was activated and is investigating.

The motor vehicle involved in the crash was last seen heading north on Hull Street from Seventh Street.
