Obituary: Effie May Selman

Georgetown - Effie Mayn (Hine) Selman was born August 29,1939 at her parent's home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Effie entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 14, 2024 at the age of 84. She passed peacefully in Georgetown, Texas surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Effie was a woman of strong faith, leading and joining in bible studies, working in Stephen's Ministries, and playing in the handbell choir at The Worship Place in Sun City for many years. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Georgetown and supported others through her prayer life and as she lived out her faith.

Effie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bob, by her parents Frankie and Roy Hine, and her brother Howard Conley.

She is survived by her children Robert Selman of Reno, NV; Susan Harrington (Suzette) of Georgetown, TX and Kristi Duncan (Bob) of Cape Coral, FL. Effie was the loving grandmother to Rachel, Sara (Jesse), Robbie,

Kaelen, Keaton (Victoria), Jessica (Mike), Joshua, Jake and Jack and great-grandmother to Jenna, Reilly, Duncan, Mikaela, Jax and Chieftain. Effie is also survived by her two sisters, Kay Schofield and Francis Saindon and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. A burial service will be held at Wheeler Mortuary in Portales, New Mexico on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10:00.
