Melba Doretha Eagle, age 76, of Clovis, NM passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton St., Clovis, NM with Robert Thornton officiating. Burial will take place at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E Llano Estacado, Clovis, NM. Matt Meeks, Jeff Tharp, Duane Robinson, Cy Lance, Gary Brumley, and Abby Parrish will serve as pallbearers. Rick Anderson and Tim Lee will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Melba was born on March 7, 1947, to Leo Wilburn Self "Bud" and Mae Bell Earwood in Albuquerque. NM. On April 10, 1982, Melba married Glen Edward Eagle in Portales, NM. Melba enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching, dancing, watching horse racing, and watching baseball.
Survivors include her husband; Glen Eagle of the home, children; Rae Lynn Griest of Clovis, NM, April Lee Medley of Amarillo, TX, Chip Eagle of Clovis, NM, Jennifer Eagle of Fort Worth, TX, and Greg (Bernice) Eagle of Clovis, NM, brother; Charles Self of Clovis, NM, grandchildren; Ali (Alannah) Eagle-King, Tiffany (Jonathan) Chinners, Thomas Eagle, Sabrina Griest, June (Sam) Montoya, and Jeffery (Michael) Ortega, great grandchildren; Samantha Montoya, Sariya Montoya, Serenity Montoya, McKenna Chinners, and Harper Chinners, and great great-grandchildren; Akira Gallagher, and Luna Guerrero.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Leo and Mae Bell.
