Obituary: John Edward Davis

John Edward Davis, age 68, of Clovis, NM passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 10:30 am at Restoration Baptist Church, 302 Gidding St., Clovis, NM, at 10:30 with Pastor Tyler Hicks officiating. Gary Swann, and Frank Gonzales will serve as honorary pallbearers.

John was born on May 16, 1955, to Delmer Frazier Davis and Wenona Leona (Kinkade) in Clovis, NM. John enjoyed working with his animals and his vehicles.

John is one of 12 children. He retired from Myers Electric to enjoy his granddaughter. He worked many years as an electrician and had much fun creating memories with co-workers.

His siblings loved him dearly and he had a special relationship with each one of them. Each sibling has cherished memories from their time together. John was a friend to all, and helped anyone he could. He never expected anything in return. Many people called him Big John. His family loved him dearly and enjoyed seeing that big smile. All his nieces and nephews loved to spend time with him. He was a funny man that enjoyed pestering his loved ones all in good fun.

His most favorite thing in life was being a grandpa to his beloved Granddaughter Bella. He enjoyed spending countless hours letting Bella paint his nails and do his makeup. He became a big softy only for his Granddaughter. They did everything together from chores to working on various projects. He supported her in everything she wanted to do. He loved watching her play softball and excel in anything she put her mind to.

Johnny “Big John” will be deeply missed by all. We will cherish our memories until we meet again. Heaven gained an amazing man.

Survivors include his daughter; Bobbie Jo Fuller and granddaughter; Bella Fuller, siblings; Wanda Davis, Joyce (Phillip) Morgan, Betty Sanderson, Trudy (JC) Jenkins, Vicki Moorhead, Georgia (Bill) Roberts, Nancy (Rocky) Moorhead, and Ricky (Nita) Davis, brother-in-law; Ray Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Delmer and Wenona, brother; Delmer Charles Davis, sisters; Wenona Darlene Smith and Dixie Pickard, and brothers-in-law; Bud Moorhead and Sandy Sanderson.
