Portales MLK celebration moving indoors

With temperatures in the single digits expected the next few days, the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration set for Monday evening in Portales has been moved indoors.

Eastern New Mexico University’s Office of Campus Life and Portales’ Cultural Affairs Committee had planned to host a commemorative march outside. Instead, activities will move to the ENMU Campus Union Building starting at 6 p.m. Monday, according to information published on the university website.

The gathering is set for the CUB Ballroom where refreshments will be served.
