Martha De Lois (Woolever) Schueler, 90, of Allen, Texas was called to her eternal rest on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Lariat, Texas at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 13. Burial will be held at 3:00 pm at Rhea Cemetery in the Rhea Community.

Martha was born in Lubbock County near Idalou, Texas on October 12, 1933 to Edgar Orville and Grace Truman (Mitchell) Woolever. After graduating from Clovis High School, she married Walter W. Schueler at First Methodist Church in Clovis, New Mexico on February 25, 1951.

Martha and Walter made their home in the Rhea community where Martha worked in the home and the fields where they farmed until his retirement. They raised three children on that farm: Wayne, Vickie (Kube), and Gary Schueler. She started the hobby of candy making and became known as "The Candy Lady." She also gave numerous demonstrations and workshops on candy making. When Walter began crafting toys out of wood, Martha shared his hobby by painting the many trucks, tractors and cars that he made.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, E. O. and Grace T. Woolever, her husband Walter, grandson Christopher Schueler, and granddaughter Sarah Schueler. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rev. Wayne and Ann Schueler of Richmond, Texas, Vickie and Wayne Kube of Lucas, Texas and Gary and Mary Schueler of Waxahachie, Texas.
