Inclement weather plagues region

Rain, snow and "patchy freezing fog" will result in delays Friday for multiple public entities.

Clovis Municipal Schools teachers, staff and administrators are planning to arrive at work at 9:30 a.m. due to the inclement weather. Students remain on Winter Break and are not scheduled to return to class until Monday.

Curry County offices will open one hour later than normal on Friday. Clovis Community College and Clovis Christian Schools plan 10 a.m. openings.

Snow covered parts of the region on Thursday and freezing temperatures and rain continued into overnight hours.

Friday's forecast calls for some clouds in the morning, but sunny afternoon skies with temperatures in the upper 40s.

Saturday brings another chance of snow, mixed with rain, with temperatures ranging from the low-20s to the mid-40s. Chances of moisture continue through Monday, when blowing snow is likely with highs near freezing and lows in the teens, the National Weather Service predicts.
