Obituary: Laurie Bonham Jacoby

Laurie Bonham Jacoby, age 66, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2023. A Celebration of Life, Memorial Service will take place Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Legacy Life Family Church, 622 N Main St in Clovis, with Pastor David Lombraña officiating.

Laurie loved her children and especially her grandchildren. Not only did she enjoy raising her children, but she also enjoyed gardening and horticulture and swing dance. She was a member of Legacy Life Family Church. A passionate believer and prayer warrior, she helped run the Celebrate Recovery program in various locations including Clovis, Portales and in Frederick, Maryland.

She was born on August 3, 1957, in Topeka, Kansas to John "Bud" Bonham and Lou (Prescott) Bonham. When Lou passed away (shortly before Laurie was 2 years old), John married Margaret (Van Gorp) Bonham and Laurie was adopted shortly after by Margaret.

She is survived by her husband; Verne Jacoby of the home, her parents; Bud and Margaret Bonham, her two sisters; Caren (Rob) Nester and Janice (Ricky) West, one brother; Carl (Paula) Bonham, her two daughters; Rebecca Catalena-Lee (Thomas) and Elizabeth Werth (Jeremy), one son; Robert Britton (Lily), two aunts; JoAnn Corfman and Carol Bonham, an uncle; Jim Bonham, four sisters-in-law: Teresa Jacoby, Ann (Jim) Medlin, Lisa (Mike) Garcia, and Colleen Verette, two brothers-in-law; James (Tracy) Jacoby and Joel (Veronica) Jacoby, and two step-children: her son, Peter (Kaden) Jacoby and her daughter, Jennifer Jacoby. She leaves behind 12 shared grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins. As a blended family, there were no real 'step' anything – everybody was part of her family and loved as her own.

She goes on to join her infant son; Sam Robert Catalena (Aug 4-Oct 20, 1983) and birthmother; Lou.
