What's up with the building on Mabry Drive that used to house Traci's Greenhouse? It's empty and painted black. And what has become of Traci?

The building has been sold and will soon be the new location of Zia Powersports.

"We're going to move Zia Powersports into that building soon. We're hoping for early in the first quarter 2024," Tanner Gearn said.

Gearn, a Texas Tech and West Texas A&M alumnus, is the owner of Zia Powersports of Clovis and Roswell and Lone Star Powersports of Amarillo and Abilene.

"We are working out some of the details with the manufacturers of the products we'll be selling, Honda, Polaris and Can-Am," Gearn said.

As for painting the building black, Gearn said, "Black goes with everything."

"It gets attention. A couple of our other locations are painted black," he said.

Gearn said moving from the business' North Prince Street location will be a "big positive adjustment for us."

"There'll be better customer parking and more space for our employees," Gearn said.

Gearn added the store will offer motorcycles, ATVs, "side-by-sides," accessories and clothing.

"We are working on some water offerings: Boats and personal watercraft," Gearn said.

Gearn has been in the motorcycle/ATV industry for over 20 years.

"I started as a porter at a dealership, washing the vehicles, doing various things around the business," Gearn said.

Traci Earle, whose business "Traci's Greenhouse" used to occupy the building at 2600 Mabry Drive, still has high regard for the location.

"It's (one of the largest buildings) in Clovis, 72,000 square feet. I know it because I walked it a lot. I put in nine to 13 miles a day," Earle said.

Ask Earle what she's up to these days, she'll tell you.

"I'm still working, I'm still around. What's in my future? Flowers, plants, I know that. I just don't know how it will be executed yet," Earle said.

Earle says she posts regularly on Facebook and Instagram regarding her activities.

"I'm doing floral arrangements and weddings," she said.
