Baby Autumn loves smiling, snuggling

She is here!

Today marks week 2 ... of being a mom. I am happy to report that our baby girl, Autumn Liberty, was born at 11:33 p.m. on Nov. 15.

She only had 27 minutes to spare, or she and I would have shared a birthday. It was by far the best birthday I have ever had as it was my first day as a mom.

The experience was something I will never forget. Having her was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it was also the most rewarding thing I've ever done at the same time.

She has already changed in the short two weeks that we've gotten to know her. She makes these squeaky sounds every now and then and smiles at her dad all the time. She loves to eat, which I'm thankful for, and she also loves to be snuggled.

As I sit here with her, I reflect on the last 10 months and how all of the challenges have led me here. Pregnancy was hard. Labor was hard. But nothing could have prepared me for how much I love her and how proud I am to be her mom.

I'm thankful to have some time off and adjust to life with a newborn. Getting sleep has become a challenge, but hopefully she'll start to learn her days from her nights. Right now, she's just a little confused.

Documenting this journey has been incredibly fun for me, and I'm thankful to have these memories. Our baby girl is here. She's happy, she's healthy, and most importantly, she's loved by so many.
