Walmart plans partial reopening Saturday

Clovis' Walmart will reopen its "grocery-side" at 6 a.m. Saturday, company spokesman Joe Pennington confirmed.

Pennington said he had no information about when the rest of the store might open. He said the bakery and deli sections will not be available until later.

Clovis' largest retailer closed Sept. 3 after a fire officials said caused $42 million in damage. A transient who entered the store after hours through the area grocery carts are stored has been charged with arson and is awaiting extradition from Lubbock where he was arrested on Sept. 13.
