Obituary: Geraldine Theresa Tenorio

Geraldine Theresa Tenorio, age 63, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. Memorial Mass to be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 921 N Merriwether Street with Father Iwuagwu officiating. Burial is scheduled for 2:00 PM at the Old Pintada Cemetery, County Road 4EA, Pintada, NM 88435.

Geraldine was born on July 21, 1960, to Porfirio Tenorio and Celia Martinez in Canoga Park, California. Gerldine's deepest passion in life was reading. While in high school she secured several part time jobs so she could take a speed-reading course at Evelyn Woods Reading Dynamics School. She took college prep-courses so she could attend Moorpark Jr College. She enjoyed studying history, literature, mythology, and foreign languages, French and Spanish. She learned to knit, crochet, and sew her own clothes. She also took classes in cooking and pottery. She appreciated music, flowers, animals and playing cards with her mother and sister Cindy.

Survivors include two sons: Michael Apodaca of Atlanta, GA and Gerald Tenorio of Clovis, NM; eldest sister, Rita Tenorio of Pintada, NM; only brother, Porfirio Tenorio Jr. of Clovis, NM; and her mother, Celia Tenorio Martinez of Clovis, NM. She is preceded in death by her younger sister, Cindy Sue Tenorio and her father, Porfirio Tenorio.
