Obituary: Dorothy Malsom-Bender-Miller

Dorothy Kathrine Malsom-Bender-Miller, age 92, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. Cremation has taken place and services at a later date at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Dorothy was born on September 13, 1930, to Jacob Malsom and Margaret Busch in Onaka, SD. She enjoyed golfing and she golfed up to the age of 87. She also enjoyed bowling and she was a state champ in 1959. Dorothy loved gardening, and knitting, which she made all her grandchildren Afghans.

Dorothy was survived by sister; Anna Browning, brother; Pius Malson, children; Gary (Daena) Bender of Lubbock, TX, Darryle (Susie) Bender, Duane Bender, Bruce Bender, and Bryce (Jeannie) Bender all of Clovis, NM, grandchildren; Christopher, J.J., Brad, Josh, Monica, Stephanie, Jennifer, Adrionna, Ericka, Shanon, Martin, Scott, and Jena, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father; Jacob Malsom, mother; Margaret Malsom, brothers; John Malsom, Ralph Malsom, Albert Malsom, Leo Malsom, Gene Malsom, sisters; Eva Duffy, Mary Young, Lena Klein, Theresa Wilson, Angeline Malsom, Agnes Benefit, Loretta Crider, grandson; Garrett Bender, granddaughter; Brooke Bender, and great granddaughter; Kenedi Bender.
