Obituary: George Derle Keith

George Derle Keith, age 81, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Services will be at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton St., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Pastors Stormy & Shelly Swann officiating. Burial will take place at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E. Llano Estacado Blvd., Clovis, NM. Derle was born December 3, 1941, to Lamon and Ellen (Ussery) Keith in Lubbock, TX.

Derle came to Curry County in 1963. Derle was a Mason where he served as Master Mason, was a member of the Shriners, Jesters, Shrine Nomad RV Club, and was also a life member of the Elks Club. Derle attended and watched Faith Church services in Lubbock, TX.

Derle married Carlene McLain on September 14, 2007, in Red River, NM. Derle and Carlene loved to travel in their motorhome all over the U.S. and spent the winters in Yuma with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law (Jim and Joyce Neagle) and loved to go to their grandkids and great-grandkids ball games.

He is survived by his wife, Carlene Keith of the home, his son, Jeff (Margaret) Keith of Ft. Sumner; daughter, Lamonda (Danny) Keith of Clovis; stepchildren, Vickie (JR) Burnett of Trinity, FL; Debbie (Tim) Walton of Texico, NM; Shelly (Stormy) Swann of Lubbock, TX; and Brian (Carol) McLain of Noble, OK; grandchildren, Ciara (Jeremy) Blakey, Lacy (Elijio) Sena, Audi (Nick) McCanna, Jeff (Kellie) Burnett, Jared (Heather) Burnett, Jesse Burnett, Justin Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Natalie (Carlos) Rueda, Amanda (Matt) Bullen, Austin Swann, Brandon Pridgen (Justine), and Alexyss (Isaac) Perez; and 26 great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Jan Keith of Joplin, MO; niece, Cammy (Brian) McGuire; nephews, Brian (Rachel) Keith, Dennis Keith, and Chris Keith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lamon and Ellen Keith, his brother Barry Keith, and stepdaughter Cindy McLain-Williams.
