Road projects to get funds

Road projects in Clovis, Melrose and Texico are expected to receive funds through the New Mexico State Transportation Commission’s Transportation Project Funds (TPF) program, according to a news release from the Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG).

The projects awarded are expected to be financed 95% with state funds, with 5% local fund matches, unless local governments can receive match waivers from the state, the news release stated.

The projects include:

• Commerce Way maintenance in Clovis: total cost $1.4 million, $1.3 million fromTPF funds, $70,434 from local funds.

• Various roads maintenance projects in Melrose: total cost $800,000, $760,000 from TPF funds, $40,000 from local funds.

• Various road maintenance road projects in Texico: total cost $800,000, $760,000 in TPF funds, $40,000 from local matching funds.

The funding awards were approved by votes of the transportation commission at an Aug. 24 meeting, the news release stated.

EPCOG assisted local governments with their TPF applications, the news release stated.
