Border Town Days draws more than 2,000

Parade floats weren't the only thing in this year's "Border Town Days" parade Saturday morning. The West Texas Riders, above, waved and strutted down the road on horseback. The annual Border Town Days parade starts in Texico and travels across the state line to next-door Farwell. Activities also include, among other things, a 5K run, a bicycle decorating contest and other activities at Farwell's City Park. This year's Border Town Days celebration was themed "Small Towns, Big Dreams."

From fire truck sirens to the musical hum of trumpets playing on the back of parade floats, activities for Border Town Days Saturday attracted over 2,000 residents.
