Nosebleeds: Dry weather or pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a wild thing. Seeing and feeling my body change every day is something I’ve had to adjust to. I’m currently at the 19-week mark, which means Baby Sena is the size of a mango. Oh, and it also means I’m one week away from finding out what the gender of this baby will be.

One thing I’m really happy about lately is the fact that I haven’t been nauseous every single day in this second trimester.

I never realized how exhausted I truly was there at the beginning. Now that my energy has been somewhat back to normal, I feel like a new person. I read that this burst of energy was supposed to come back around this time … but it wasn’t right away for me at all. I felt like I waited patiently once I crossed into the second trimester. I get it now, though. And it feels great!

I’m working out more, even though it’s getting a lot warmer. I actually have the motivation to get out and go for a walk or jog. I’ve even moved houses over the last two weeks. With caution, of course. Sterling, my husband, didn’t allow me to lift anything heavy, so we’re good there.

There at the beginning of this journey, you couldn’t find me up and off the couch for a good while. Or not hunched over the toilet, of course.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve discovered a new pregnancy symptom that I found a bit strange, and that is nosebleeds. Why in the world are nosebleeds associated with pregnancy you might ask? I thought the same. Apparently it has to do with increased blood flow and pressure on the veins in your nose, something along those lines. It seems like everything is a pregnancy symptom at this point!

My appetite has definitely increased, thank goodness. I still feel moments of nausea here and there, but I haven’t actually thrown up in about two weeks or so, knock on wood. It feels so good to enjoy a meal like I used to almost five months ago.

As far as cravings go, I don’t think I’ve had any major ones. I would love a good watermelon, though. That and pickles. I’m always in the mood for pickles!

We’ll see if the cravings stay this healthy as I get further along.

The next time I write, I’ll have more updates on baby, especially the information I’ve been so patiently (impatiently) waiting to find out, and that is, what this baby will be.

Boy or girl? Let me know your guess!
