Suspect who led police on chase still at large

Clovis police cars were moving through parts of the city Wednesday night with lights flashing and sirens blaring pursuing a fleeing suspect. They didn’t catch him.

The incident began at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday when Clovis Police Department officers observed Bryson Campos, 30, driving a 2005 black Cadillac Escalade in the area of Seventh and Hull streets, according to a news release from CPD Deputy Chief Trevor Thron.

Campos absconded from parole in April and has an active warrant for his arrest.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop but Campos fled. The pursuit led officers to the residential area of Raintree in the northeast area of Clovis. While in the Raintree area officers lost sight of the Cadillac.

The car was eventually located abandoned in the vicinity of Earlmont Street and Llano Estacado Boulevard.

Campos was not located, the release said.

Anyone with information about Campos’ location is asked to contact the Clovis Police Department at 575-769-1921, Thron wrote.

CPD also reminds residents that tips can be provided anonymously by using the CPD’s tip411 program which can be accessed by going to http://www.police.cityofclovis.org.

Anonymous tips can also be provided to the Curry County Crime Stoppers at 575-763-7000.
