Yucca responds to security threat

Things got back to normal Monday afternoon at Yucca Middle School in Clovis after an unspecified “security threat” put the school in a “Secure and Teach” mode for about a half-hour.

According to a news release from Clovis Municipal Schools, at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, staff received information regarding a possible security threat on campus.

Law enforcement was notified and the campus was placed in Secure and Teach mode to allow for an investigation. During Secure and Teach, instruction continues as usual, however exterior doors are secured and building access is limited to essential personnel.

Another news release from CMS stated law enforcement conducted an investigation and issued an all-clear to resume normal activity at about 2 p.m.
