ENMU named veteran friendly

PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) has been named a veteran-friendly school by three organizations for 2022.

According to a news release from ENMU’s Marketing and Communications department, U.S. Veterans Magazine listed ENMU as a top veteran-friendly school in its annual Best of the Best rankings of companies, supplier diversity programs, government and law enforcement agencies and schools across the nation, while Military Times magazine listed ENMU in its Best for Vets ranking. Additionally, Veteran.com listed Eastern as a Veteran Friendly College for the year.

U.S. Veterans Magazine polled Fortune 1000 companies to determine their evaluations in their effort to foster employment and education opportunities for veterans, transitioning service members, spouses and veteran business owners. The lists were compiled from market and independent research, diversity conference participation and survey responses.

Military Times ranked ENMU 28th in the Southwest U.S. and 34th overall in primarily online education for its commitment to assisting veterans in achieving their educational goals. The ranking is the result of survey responses from more than 300 schools answering questions about services and programs specific to military students – whether active-duty, veteran or families and dependents of service members. The Military Times list can be found at https://colleges.militarytimes.com/.

“ENMU is very proud of the veterans, active duty and military family members we serve,” said ENMU President Patrice Caldwell. “These national recognitions are important in identifying how we can continue to meet their needs and assure their success.”
