Clovis police are investigating a homicide that happened in the city early Saturday.

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Connelly Street on a report of gunshots fired about 12:50 a.m., according to a news release from police Capt. Robbie Telles. While responding to that call another call came in about a vehicle crashing into a home at 915 Connelly St.

According to the news release:

Emergency responders found a black GMC pickup truck had crashed into the house at 915 Connelly. A man was removed from the truck's driver's side with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The region's Major Crimes Unit was activated and is investigating the homicide. The victim's identity has not been released, pending family notification. No arrests had been made by noon on Saturday, District Attorney Brian Stover said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Clovis Police Department at 575-769-1921.
