According to a news release from New Mexico State Police:

An officer observed a 1997 Buick traveling 100 mph on Interstate 25 near the Paseo Del Norte exit. The officer attempted a traffic stop but the Buick continued at a high rate of speed.

The Buick ultimately collided with a police unit. After crashing into a ditch, the Buick’s driver and passenger exited their vehicle and fled on foot.

Marquez and Ramos were both transported to an area hospital in Albuquerque where they were treated and released. No officers were injured during the incident.

Marquez was booked into the Albuquerque Metro Detention Center and faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault upon a peace officer, fleeing from a law officer and driving under the influence.

Ramos was charged with resisting, evading, and obstructing an officer and was also booked into the Albuquerque jail.

The incident began at 12:19 a.m. Sunday, the release stated.
