Opinion: Clovis celebrating contributions of local developers

Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG), in conjunction with Clovis Economic Development (CED) and the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, mark the week of May 9-13, 2022, as Economic Development Week. During the week, Clovis will join cities nationwide to celebrate and recognize the contributions made by professional developers to create more economically vibrant and livable communities.

Created in 2016 by International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the largest international professional trade association for economic developers, Economic Development Week aims to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities, and improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.

Economic developers play essential roles in promoting the economic health and vitality of their communities, the impact economic development has in fueling the economy, employing residents, and helping businesses thrive. Economic Development Week is a time to reflect on the many successes of public-private partnerships to grow businesses, create jobs and strengthen the economy.

The Clovis City and County Commissions presented a proclamation to celebrate the week. We continue to be a “A City on the Move” and creating opportunities for all residents. With Main Street thriving in development, future projects are coming to Clovis.
