Delays planned for Friday

With near-zero temperatures forecast overnight, below-freezing temps expected for most of Friday and the potential for ice on area roads, area entities have announced delays.

* Roosevelt County offices will close at 4 p.m. Thursday to allow personnel additional time to travel home. The county will open at 10 a.m. Friday, and all nonessential personnel will be on a two-hour delay.

* Portales Municipal Schools will be on a two-hour delay Friday morning due to freezing temperatures and possible ice.
