CLOVIS -- Police are investigating a "possible homicide" following the Tuesday night shooting death of a 17-year-old male.

Police did not release the boy's name, but said they are searching for Theodore Avalos, 21, a resident of the home where the shooting occurred. Avalos is listed as "a person of interest" in the case, according to a police news release.

Police said they received two 911 calls at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a juvenile male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his head. The incident occurred in the 700 block of East Seventh Street in Clovis.

The male was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, police said.
