CLOVIS — Clovis Municipal Schools has named Krystal Gutierrez as its new director of health services.
Gutierrez began her career in nursing with La Casa Family Health Center in 2013 as the Eastern New Mexico University Clinic Nurse. In July 2016, Krystal began working at Plains Regional Medical Center in the surgical Unit where she also served as a charge nurse and nurse preceptor, and subsequently served as a post-anesthesia care nurse until July.
She has been with the district since 2018, when she was hired to be the school nurse at Yucca Middle School. She became the lead nurse for the district in July.
Gutierrez holds a 2013 associate’s degree in nursing from Clovis Community College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing last year from ENMU.
She replaces Carissa Engel, who resigned the position.
