Clovis to hold public hearing on city charter

CLOVIS — The city of Clovis will hold a public hearing Tuesday regarding its city charter, according to a city release.

The charter review commission will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library. The commission includes Mayor Mike Morris, City Commissioners Lauren Rowley and Megan Palla and eight citizen members representing each of the city's four commission districts.

The public is invited to attend the meeting to present any changes they wish to be considered for the charter. The commission is tasked to decide on potential recommendations, which would then go to the city commission. A citizen vote is required for any charter change.

The charter, available online at library.municode.com/nm/clovis/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=CH, requires a review process at least every 10 years.
