PHS graduation rescheduled to 10 a.m. Saturday

Portales High has rescheduled its commencement for 10 a.m. Saturday. The ceremony will still be held at Greyhound Stadium.
Superintendent Johnnie Cain, in a letter to parents and students, said the move is "due to the high probability of thunderstorms this evening in Roosevelt County ... We apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause. However, we prefer to ensure that our seniors will have the graduation they deserve without the fear of rain or lightning canceling the event while in progress."
