ENMU holding virtual homecoming

PORTALES — With on-campus events postponed until the spring semester, Eastern New Mexico University is celebrating its homecoming virtually this week.

Beginning Monday, a fiesta-themed homecoming week will commence with streaming videos of campus tours, faculty lectures showcasing on-campus research, daily concerts from the Department of Music’s students, one-act plays by the Department of Theatre and Digital Filmmaking, bingo with Interim Chancellor Patrice Caldwell and a wine event.

“Although we are disappointed we cannot reconnect with our alumni in person this year, we are happy to announce a virtual homecoming ceremony that will let us connect with our alumni around the world during this difficult time,” Caldwell said in a university release. “Our Alumni Association has come up with several events that showcase different areas in our University and celebrate ENMU Homecoming 2020 in a unique way.”

The alumni association is also sponsoring various giveaways during the virtual events and preparing a video highlighting alumni from around the world for its Facebook page (facebook.com/AlumniENMU).
