Expo to be held as drive-through event

Pattern Energy will hold its third annual back to school expo as a drive-through event Friday.

The event will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until the 1,000-bag supply is exhausted, at the Clovis Civic Center. Students must remain in vehicles to receive the bag of school supplies.

Businesses that wish to include a flyer in the bags must bring their flyers to the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce by noon Wednesday.

Schools scheduling belonging pickup

Clovis Municipal Schools is scheduling an opportunity for families to pick up any student belongings left at elementary school campuses from the prior school year on Friday.

The district is still planning for similar events at Clovis High School and its three middle schools.

The Clovis High School Freshman Academy is allowing those pick-ups this week, but families must make an appointment through Assistant Principal Shane Leatherwood at 575-769-4400.

The drive-through pickups will start between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and end between 9 a.m. and noon, with times varying by campus.

Schools to hold online broadcast

Clovis Municipal Schools is planning a Facebook Live broadcast Friday to name its support staff employee and teacher of the 2019-20 school year, and honor all of the nominees.

The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. on the district’s Facebook page (Clovis Municipal Schools - District Offices).
