LOVINGTON — Three Lea County employees with the county’s detention center and juvenile housing unit, along with three juveniles, have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a county release.
The county employees have been quarantined at home, and none of the three have been hospitalized. Of the juveniles, two are quarantined at the detention center and one is being quarantined at home and was scheduled for release anyway.
Curry County closed its juvenile detention center more than two months ago, and Lea County is one of the facilities the county contracted with for juvenile housing.
County Manager Lance Pyle told The News there are three Curry County youths at the Lea juvenile detention center. It was not disclosed if the Curry County youths were among the positive tests.
