Roosevelt resident elected delegate

PORTALES — The New Mexico Democratic Party elected a Roosevelt County resident as one of its 23 congressional delegates for the upcoming Democratic National Convention, according to a party release.
Tate Turnbough, chair of the Roosevelt County Democratic Party, is one of 45 New Mexicans who will represent the state party at the convention that runs Aug. 17-20.
The party held a virtual post-primary convention, with electronic ballots and ballot counting observation via online meeting.
In addition to the 23 congressional delegates, the party also has 11 automatic delegates, seven at-large delegates and four party leader and elected official delegates.
All delegates are pending credential review from the DNC.
