Clovis school board to hold final '19-20 meeting virtually

CLOVIS — The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education will hold its final meeting of the 2019-20 school year Tuesday in virtual format.

The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be held with Zoom meeting ID 81760486821 and password 550909.

Agenda items include:

• Reorganization of board officers. The board decided earlier in the year, based on a staff recommendation, to determine the board president, vice president and secretary along fiscal years instead of calendar years.

• Resolutions regarding board member participation in procurement of services. The three separate resolutions would cover board members Paul Cordova, Shawn Hamilton and Kyle Snider. Each resolution notes their businesses are not disqualified from doing business with the district because of their service to the board, and that the district wants to keep as many options available for contracted services. The board members must abstain from any board decision involving their business, including the vote on his specific resolution.

• Consideration of a CARES Act funding application.

• Consideration of various policy revisions, including investment revenue, bullying prevention and bus driver training and drug/alcohol testing requirements.

• The district will also share information about a virtual reception for retiring CMS employees. The reception is scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday.
