Texico golfer hits hole-in-one

FARWELL - Many golfers go their entire lives without hitting a hole-in-one. Texico's Grace McDaniel did it as a high school junior.

McDaniel hit her first ace while golfing with her family Sunday at Farwell Country Club. The shot came on the No. 2 hole from 138 yards out with a 7 iron.

Witnesses were her father, Ben McDaniel; her mom, Mandy McDaniel, and her sister, Claire McDaniel.

She was in her third year on the Texico varsity golf team before the year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was on the Wolverines' state runner-up team in 2019.
