Roosevelt sheriff investigating death

PORTALES — Sunday’s death of a Roosevelt County man is being investigated by the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Malin Parker said officials responded to an emergency call around noon on Sunday. He said a man was taken to the hospital and later died.

Parker did not identify the man, but friends said he was Ben Tabor and he died in a Lubbock hospital on Thursday.

Parker said his office is waiting on results from an autopsy before making additional comments.

District Attorney Andrea Reeb said no charges had been filed as of Friday.
