1975: Eastern New Mexico awoke to find itself under a blanket of snow.
Roads were slick and hazardous and visibility was near zero on the highway between Fort Sumner and Santa Rosa, officials said.
The Clovis News-Journal reported it was the first major winter storm of 1975.
“It’s just solid ice,” Clovis Police Dispatcher Oneta Black said. “But everyone seems to be pretty cautious.”
