Last time out: The Greyhounds (0-4) fell 93-78 at West Texas A&M to open the Lone Star Conference season Saturday. The Roadrunners topped Northern New Mexico 77-74 Nov. 20. The Rangers fell 90-69 to Western Oregon Saturday in Portland.
Greyhound notes: It’s been a rough early patch for the Greyhounds, who have lost their first four games by an average of eight points per. Five Greyhounds are averaging double figures, led by junior Devin Pullum’s 16.3 point average. The other double-figure scorers are Deng Kuany (12), Jose Serrano (11), Isaiah Murphy and Marvin Mapaga (10 each). Junior forward Yosnier Cobas leads the Greyhounds with 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Pullum is by far the team’s assist leader with five per game.
About Metro State: The Roadrunners should be well-rested, after their Tuesday matchup with Colorado College postponed for inclement weather. Senior guard Druce Asah leads Metro State with 16.0 points per game. Kendall McIntosh is averaging 10.3 points and a team-high 7.0 rebounds.
About Regis: The Rangers will face Eastern the day after opening the weekend with Minnesota State-Mankato. Toni Rocak leads the team at 12.8 points per game. Overall, teh Rangers have scored 297 points and allowed 270, and are shooting 46.3% from the floor.
Women
at West Texas A&M Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic
vs. CSU-Pueblo (1-2) 11 a.m. Friday
vs. Adams State (0-4) 11 a.m. Saturday
Last time out: The Greyhounds (3-1) are coming off a 61-47 loss Saturday at West Texas A&M, and return for the holiday tournament. The Thunderwolves defeated Regis 68-63 on the road Saturday at the Kaly Shrine Classic hosted by Regis. It gave the team a 1-2 mark at the season-opening tournament, following losses to Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M-Commerce. The Grizzlies fell 40-71 to Nebraska-Kearney at the Texan Tip-Off Classic at Tarleton State.
Greyhound notes: Graduate transfer Natalie DeLonge leads a balanced Greyhound effort at 12.0 points per game on 45.2% shooting, while junior post Alivia Lewis isn’t far behing at 10.5 points per and 7.8 rebounds — tying Jasmine Williams for team honors. Overall, the Greyhounds are scoring 50 points a game on 41.1% shooting, 35.9% from 3-point land, and have allowed 50 points per game on 36.1% shooting. Sophomore guard Zamorye Cox leads the team in assists (25) and steals (8) and is third at 10 points per game.
About CSU-Pueblo: The Thunderwolves are led by sophomore guard JaNaiya Davis and junior post Sydni Williams, who are both at 14.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Davis is coming off a 24-point night against Regis. As a team, the Thunderwolves are shooting 33.3% from the floor, and just 24.6% from beyond the arc.
About Adams State: The Grizzlies didn’t fare well at Classic, dropping all four games by double figures and an average of 24.3 points to the host TexAnns, Cameron, Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney, and will stay winless coming into Saturday’s matchup barring a pretty significant upset over tournament host WT. Maighan Hedge leads the Grizzlies in scoring, averaging 29 points per game, but it’s a one-game sample size.
