Seventh-grader Cubs fall 14-0 versus Yucca

The Gattis Middle School seventh-grade football team fell to Yucca 14-0 on Wednesday.

The Cubs did have highlights on defense, as Shawn Schiller had an interception and Robert Martinez, Jordan Regulus and Mason Greathouse all had a fumble recovery.

The loss puts the Cubs at 1-2-1 on the season. They face Marshall 6 p.m. Tuesday at Normah Vohs Field.

Eighth-grade Chaps claim two of three

The Yucca eighth-grade volleyball team has won two straight, following a Sept. 14 setback against Artesia.

The Chaps fell to Artesia 25-14, 25-12.

Monday featured a three-set win over Lovington, 25-15, 21-25, 15-8.

Against Marshall on Tuesday, Yucca took a 25-8, 25-6 victory.

The results moved the Chaps to 6-2 on the season.
