Woman hit by two vehicles

CLOVIS — A Clovis woman was hit by a pair of vehicles Friday night on U.S. 60/84, according to a release from the Curry County Sheriff's Office.

Mary Jeffs, 27, was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and flown to a Lubbock facility with critical injuries, according to the release.

According to the release:

• Jeffs was walking home from a residence on the 1300 block of 60/84 and laid down in the westbound lanes of traffic.

• She was struck by a sport utility vehicle driven by Audrey Respondek, 44, of Lubbock. Respondek called 911 and turned around to return to the scene. By the time Respondek arrived, Jeffs was struck again, this time in a car driven by Keleka Dawson, 38, of Houston.

• A witness reported Jeffs had consumed alcohol prior to the crash.

• Neither Respondek or Dawson were injured.
